This can contains the meat of several specimens of Ruditapes decussatus, that is, fine clams. The place where these mollusks are caught is perhaps one of the best in terms of seafood: the Galician estuaries. In addition, this preserve includes pieces of kombu seaweed, an edible sea vegetable that, like the clams, also comes from the Galician coast.

The first step in the preparation of this canned product is to clean the clams. Later, they are subjected to a steaming process, the shells are removed and they are manually placed in the can one by one. Finally, the previously selected and cut pieces of kombu seaweed, salt and sake are added and sealed and sterilized.

This preserve combines the marine intensity of fine clams and kombu seaweed with the particular flavor of sake, a fermented alcoholic beverage made from rice. Thus, we can say that this can is already a dish; little could be added to improve the result. Just open and enjoy.

Its shelf life is 4 years from the date of manufacture, however, canning experts advise that, once the product is opened, it should be consumed within 24 hours. The ideal place for storage should be cool, dry and not exceeding 35oC, without the need for industrial refrigeration.
